30hrs my paralyzed mother in a hallway laying in a bed full of blood…no one would help as too busy dealing with people licking hand sanitizer and once we did try to go to a CT scan we couldn’t get thru the hallway cuz a drunk woman left sleeping on the floor and blocking exit. Tried to take my mother to bathroom and it was covered in blood and piss… absolutely appalling environment!!! Rather die than go here

I've struggled with my mental health since a young age. Unfortunately, earlier this year it had gotten to a point where I no longer wanted to live. Upon arriving, I spent all day in the ER.. from 6AM until about 8PM. I wasnt fed or given anything to drink. When I was finally fed, I was sitting in the hallway next to the nurse's office/station. I heard them mocking me using inappropriate terminology, also saying something along the lines of She seems to really want to kill herself."; In an extremely sarcastic tone.I was admitted to the inpatient psychiatric ward. The treatment here was okay

The hospital is good quick service however the EMERGENCY is worst . Patient have to wait hours before they can see a nurse practitioner. Nobody should be in pain and should asked to wait for hours. Personally I have to wait for 2 hours before I could be called in and after that 4 more hours to get an update and go home.I do feel for the staff as they must be overwhelmed but management should hire more people for services can be faster. More funding to expand the emergency departments would help.

How is a head injury where your head is still bleeding not an immediate emergency!?Been sitting in waiting room for half hour…but apparently my bleeding head isn’t an emergency….btw. It was bleeding for an hour before I even got hereHate this place. Was better when we had two hospitals tbh

VERY kind staff plus its clean and has good food. I would give this place 5 stars but the only issue is that the wait time is HORRID! You'll be waiting from around 1-10 hours. Ive been waiting for 9 hours without even seeing a doctor. I cant tell if they're understaffed or a lack or organization but this is a big problem; there shouldn't be people in pain or dangerously ill sitting in the waiting room for hours.

Had a blood clot in my brain and suffered several strokes. Went for a brain scan. They refused to show me the scan and tried sending me home with narcotics which I refused. I almost died because of this. Should be shut down for malpractice.

I have no idea who would rate this hospital 5 stars. Me and my daughter waited from 4:30 in the afternoon until after midnight in emergency to see a doctor. At 10 I was told she was next, same at 11. I was physically upset by 12 am and we got in. By the time we got out it was 3:30 in the morning! 11 hours! That is utterly ludicrous. A formal complaint takes 45 days to process. This hospital will kill someone before they get anything done in a timely manner. Super unimpressed.

Blown out bicep have waited 6 days for surgery that they keep pushing back. No scans, just xray. We've been told it's his shoulder and elbow and have had to correct them many times that its the bicep. Day surgery at the TBRHSC is ridiculous. They need to adapt a better system. You can't make people go 6 days all day without eating or drinking only to have it canceled again. Now we've sat in the back waiting to go to the OR for almost 3 hours. Soemthing should be done to make this process smoother and easier for all involved.

First impressions mean so much.I'd heard that it's really hit or miss on how well you're treated here—especially in the ER—and based on the low overall rating, it may well be more miss than hit. That said, I am grateful that either we caught the triage staff, nurses, and doctors on an exceptionally good day, or some of the lower scores are possibly exaggerated.I can't say enough good things about everyone we dealt with. Triage intake, nurses, doctors, even how long we waited...all of it was empathetic, respectful, effective, and QUICK (total time in ER: 3 hours). I'm originally from Victoria, BC, where wait times in ER at Victoria General and Royal Jubilee are somewhere between a land snail and a rock (you frequently won't even get SEEN until hour 3 or 4, often longer), and care quality is horrendous to the point of being borderline criminal. Not so at TBHSC. All members of the staff here were amazing; not just with us, but also with various other patients we could hear up and down the corridor. All in all, an incredibly refreshing experience compared to what one would receive on the West Coast. Be kind to your medical professionals! We'd be a whole lot worse off without them!
